Falcons Welcome Bells
Friday night the Falcons open a three-game weekend series with the Bellingham Bells at Elks Stadium.
The Falcons return after a series loss in Edmonton, beating the Riverhawks once. They are hoping some home cooking can turn their fortunes. The team played a rare morning game on Wednesday before departing the Alberta capital and had Thursday off so they should be well rested.
The Bells meanwhile have lost two in a row and are coming from Wenatchee where they lost in extra innings on Thursday night 8-7.
Looking at the standings, there is a game and a half separation between the Falcons and Bells who meet for the first of two series this summer. The Falcons will visit Bellingham in late July.
This is a rematch of last year’s West Coast League playoff series that the Bells won in two straight games.
Zach Sutton (0-1) will get the ball for the Falcons, making his first WCL start, while the Bells will counter with righty Ryan Beitel (1-0) who attends UBC and is from Surrey. This will be his third start and he’s has been on point so far allowing just one run in 10 innings and has struck out 12 hitters.
Friday night is Minor Ball Night, players and coaches of Kelowna and West Kelowna Minor Ball receive a free ticket IF they wear their minor ball jersey. Saturday night join in all the fun with our friends from 103.1 Beach Radio and 104.7 The Lizard, then Sunday is Father’s Day with dads getting a ticket for half price at the gate.
Tickets for any of the games this weekend can be purchased HERE.
The gates on Friday open at 5:30pm, with Sutton’s opening pitch scheduled for 6:35pm.
See you at the ballpark.
