It’s Mitchell Time

After suffering a 6-4 loss on Saturday in Port Angeles, the Falcons bats came alive again on Sunday blasting three homeruns to take the final game of the series over the Lefties 7-4.

Caden Mitchell (pictured) had himself a day with a pair of homers, hammering his first of the season in the second inning, then a two-run shot in the seventh to secure the series win.  He finished the game with two homeruns, three RBIs, two runs scored and a walk while calling a terrific game behind the plate.

With two-out in the third inning Aidan Kuni blasted his second homer of the year to chase home Gavyn Jones who kept the inning alive with a single just prior to Kuni’s at bat.  Lead-off man Jacob Devenny added to the Falcons offensive output with a pair of hits.

On the bump Ethan Coronel was simply outstanding picking up the win after throwing six solid innings, giving up a run on six hits and struck out four.   Matt Viveros and Carson Kimball allowed just three hits the rest of the way with all three pitchers combining for seven strikeouts.

The Falcons now head to Wenatchee to open an important three-game series with the front running Applesox on Monday night before finally returning home on Friday to begin a weekend series with the Yakima Pippins.  Book your summer office parties at the ballpark by contacting Alex Draper at adraper29@shaw.ca.
