Kimball Sparkles in Win
The Falcons opened the nine-game road trip with a 2-0 victory on Friday in Victoria behind a sparkling pitching performance from Carson Kimball.
The right-hander kept the Harbourcats hitters off balance through his six innings of work allowing just two hits, while striking out five for his fourth win of the season. Carter Boone pitched the final three innings fanning three and recording the save. Both pitchers combined to allow only three hits.
Offensively the Falcons bats were also quiet, knocking out only four hits. They scored a single run in the fourth, a run that would ultimately be the game winner. Jacob Devenny walked, then stole second and third before Nate Castellon brought him home with a sac fly. The game stayed that way until the Falcons added another run in the ninth which looked awfully similar to their first run. Devenny walked, again, stole second and third before Castellon singled to score him.
Of the four his the Falcons got on Friday; Matthew Pena had two of them. He was the only player on either team to have a multi-hit game.
Saturday the Falcons meet the Harbourcats again in Victoria with Reece Bueno the scheduled starter at 6:35pm. Fans can watch the game HERE.
The Falcons return to Elks Stadium on July 16th when they host the Kamloops NorthPaws. Book your summer parties now, connect with Alex Draper at adraper29@shaw.ca and let the Falcons take care of everything for your party, including the clean-up. Call today to reserve your date!
