Knights Slayed
In front of a great crowd, the Kelowna Falcons snapped their three-game skid on Tuesday night with a convincing 10-3 victory over the visiting Corvallis Knights.
The offence, who was held to just one hit on Monday, began early scoring five times in the first two innings as Gavin Napier, Jonas Salk and JP Smith each collected RBIs.
The starting pitching was fantastic for the Falcons as Sam Hill picked up the win throwing five innings, striking out four and allowed three hits. Koen VantKlooster came out of the pen to fan five over three innings and Patrick Barnum closed the door in the ninth, striking out one.
Offensively the home side collected 11 hits with Salk, Smith and Austin Gutierrez combining for six of them. The bats came alive again in the fifth scoring five more times putting the game away sending 11 men to the plate. In that inning Griffin Palfrey and Kyle Corso each had two-run singles.
The Falcons and Knights will play the series rubber match on Wednesday night at Elks Stadium. It’s also Strike-Out cancer night as the Falcons show their support for the BC Cancer Society. The gates open at 5:30pm with the first pitch at 6:35pm. Fans and purchase tickets online HERE.
