Pitcher’s Duel

Tuesday night was a good old-fashioned pitcher’s duel, but unfortunately the Falcons came out on the wrong end losing 1-0 in Bellingham.

Falcons’ starter Zach Sutton (pictured) was masterful over 4.2 innings striking out three and giving up just two hits.  Teagan Ribbink was equally outstanding in the final 3.1 innings fanning three but did give up the eventual winning run in the seventh inning.

Offensively the Falcons couldn’t solve any of the five Bells’ pitchers and only recorded two hits while striking out 11 times.  Nate Gray Jr and Aidan Kuni got the hits, both singles.

The loss is the third in a row and drops the Falcons to 3.5 games back of top spot in the North Division.  They will face the Bells again on Wednesday night in Bellingham in another important match-up. They return to Elks Stadium on Friday night to open a weekend series with the Port Angeles Lefties, pick up your tickets in advance HERE.
