Welcome Back Ethan

The ball club is excited to welcome back right handed pitcher Ethan Coronel for his second season in Kelowna.
Last summer he was lights out and was named the team’s Pitcher of the Year (POY). For a pitching staff that struggled with consistency, Coronel was locked in during his six appearances last season. He threw 26.2 innings and finished with an outstanding 1.05 ERA and a 2-0 record. He struck out 26 in the process and allowed only three earned runs during the season. His 1.05 ERA is the second lowest in team history, just a fraction of a point behind Austin Todd’s team record of 1.04 set in 2007.
This spring at Sam Houston State he has made seven appearances, primarily out of the bullpen and has struck out eight in 7.1 innings of work.
He’s finishing his sophomore season and will be excited to get back to Kelowna to throw more innings on the mound continuing to work on his craft. He’ll bring back a very lively fastball, cutter, changeup and slider to the Falcons staff who will need him to recapture some of his magic from last summer.
The new season will open at home on May 30th when the Falcons host the Victoria HarbourCats at Elks Stadium. Season tickets are available now by calling the Falcons headquarters at 250-763-4100 or email admin@kelownafalcons.com.
