Season Ends

The Falcons closed out the 2024 summer season in Portland on Thursday by allowing 24 runs in a 24-6 loss to the Pickles.

In the first inning the Falcons actually took the lead with a run on an RBI sac-fly by Matthew Pena to score Eddie Fines.   From there it was all Portland.

The Pickles were ahead comfortably heading into the eighth inning leading 13-6 and then scored 11 times to inflate the score, a curious coaching decision by the Pickles.

Ten of the 24 runs the Pickles would score were unearned.

Offensively the Falcons collected nine hits and saw a multi-hit game from Fines, Max Trembly and Ryan Degroot.  Trembly collected a pair of RBIs as well.

The remaining players will now head home and begin preparation for their upcoming school season and classes.

The local players are heading home as well to cleanup their gear at Elks Stadium and close the 2024 chapter of the Kelowna Falcons.

The organization can’t thank the incredible fans and billet families enough.  Without you, Falcons’ baseball would not exist, thank you for your wonderful support in 2024.
