Sox Sweep
It was a tough night for the Falcons losing by a touchdown in Wenatchee, falling 14-7 to the Applesox who sweep the visitors.
The Falcons opened the game with a pair of runs in their first at bat when Gavyn Jones and Matthew Pena each tallied an RBI base hit. The lead didn’t last long as the Sox tied it in the home half of the inning off starter JJ Luna.
In the second the Falcons retook the lead after an RBI double off the bat of Nate Castellon scaring home Cadan Mitchell who led off the inning with a single. It was the last time the Falcons would hold the lead.
In the bottom half the Applesox tallied three more and took the lead for good.
Cameron Sewell homered to lead off the fourth inning, his second of the year. Then in the seventh the offence scored two unearned runs thanks to an Applesox error, then added a single run in the ninth with another RBI hit by Jones. He finished with three runs driven in and a pair of hits, the only Falcon to have a multi-hit game.
The Falcons will regroup, taking Thursday off before opening a weekend series at Elks Stadium hosting the Yakima Pippins on Friday night. It’s also Ladies Night so grab the gals and come to the game and enjoy wine at half price. The Falcons remind you to plan ahead for a safe ride home. Tickets for the weekend set against the Pippins are available HERE.
