Two Matadors Added

The Kelowna Falcons are excited to announce the signing of a pair of players from Cal State Northridge for the upcoming summer season.

Sophomore catcher Cameron Mercurio (pictured) comes to Kelowna and will get an opportunity to hone his craft behind the plate. So far this spring he is hitting .250 and learning the intricacies of calling a game catching several different styles of pitchers.

Freshman lefthanded pitcher Brayden Hiraki from Hawaii also joins the club and will give the Falcons pitching staff a different looking coming out of the bullpen. As a freshman he hasn’t seen much action this spring with a stacked Northridge pitching staff. He has thrown one scoreless inning and struck out two.

The Falcons will open the new season on June 2nd in Portland before the free home opener on June 6th when the Nanaimo NightOwls visit Elks Stadium.
