Kelowna Falcons

Offensive Outpouring

Saturday night the Kelowna Falcons offence belted out 14 hits including a pair of homers to blast the Port Angeles Lefties 13-0.

Jonas Salk set the tone early with a solo homer in the first inning which would turn out to be the winning run. The Falcons scored two in the first, then added five more in the second inning and were on cruise control after that. Salk finished with three hits, just a triple shy of the cycle, while Griffin Palfrey collected four hits, including four RBIs, three of which came on his first homer of the season. Trey Duffield had a great night as well with two hits, two RBIS and a couple of sparkling defensive plays in centerfield.

The Falcons pitching staff was seemingly unhittable. Four pitchers combined to scatter just four hits and struck out an incredible 14 batters. Starter Sam Hall picked up the win striking out four, while reigning West Coast League Pitcher of the Week Koen van’t Klooster fanned six out of the pen.

Sunday evening the Falcons and Lefties will play their seasonal series finale as the Falcons try for a clean sweep. Reid Hensley will be on the mound for the home side and tickets are available HERE, or they can be purchased at the gate.
