About the Kelowna Falcons

tile-AboutPage

The Kelowna Falcons Baseball Club is one of two Canadian representatives in the West Coast League (WCL), a wood bat summer collegiate league that attracts the best baseball players in the western half of North America. Many have compared the WCL to the legendary Cape Cod League in the eastern United States.

The Falcons will celebrate our 22nd playing season during the 2024 summer. Since becoming the Falcons in 2000, the organization has helped develop over 300 of the best collegiate players in North America. Some of the notable former Falcons are James Paxton (2007-Boston Red Sox), Phil Maton (2012-Houston Astros), Connor Joe (2011-Pittsburgh Pirates), Ryan Tepera (2009-Chicago White Sox) and Chris Davis (now retired). There are currently numerous former Falcons climbing through the ranks of the Minor Leagues and could make their Major League debut as early this summer.

The Falcons first started play in the Pacific International League (PIL) and competed in the league championship in 2004. The following year the Falcons along with six other teams created the West Coast Collegiate Baseball League (which became the WCL in 2009).

The Falcons play their home games at historic Elks Stadium, one of the oldest parks in the WCL.  Elks has seating for 1,200 fans against a beautiful back drop of Okanagan Mountain, but often fans get the best vantage point from standing on against the fence down the first base line.  One of the best family aspects of Elks Stadium is a large grass area in the right field corner that the Falcons’ youngest fans can run, play catch and visit with their friends as their parents sit and enjoy the game.

The Falcons pride themselves on delivering an affordable family friendly atmosphere. Kids have the opportunity to run the bases after the game and corporate businesses are often celebrating with staff down the first base line with a corporate BBQ. Throughout the game Falcons fans have chances to win some outstanding prizes and compete in some fun themed contests.

Come spend a night with the Kelowna Falcons Baseball Club in 2024 at Elks Stadium.
