Kelowna Falcons

Falcons Host Wolves

The Kelowna Falcons (4-2) will be taking on the Gresham GreyWolves (3-3) in a double-header tonight. Because of the nature of the double-header, the games will both be seven innings, with the first taking place at 5:00 pm and the second game to follow at 7:00 pm.

The GreyWolves are coming off of a series win against the Cowlitz Black Bears. They currently 1.5 games back of the Falcons, who are tops in the North Divison.

The Oregon-based club is led statistically by outfielder Tyler Parker, who has contributed four runs, seven hits and seven RBI over the course of his 12 at bats.

Other GreyWolves to keep an eye on include infielder Ross Puskarich, who has six hits and four runs, as well as infielder Jordan Barchus, a WCL veteran who is playing in his second season with the Wolves.

The Falcons are coming off a sweep of the West Coast League’s newest team, the Port Angeles Lefties. The bats came alive for the Kelowna in the series and they were able to score a combined 25 runs over the three-game set.

The Falcons are led by Jake Malone, a second baseman out of Edmonds Community College. He’s been dynamite at the plate lately and had already hit multiple doubles this season while batting .278.

Taylor Wright, the Canadian-born shortstop, is also dangerous at the plate. The lefty is batting .333 and has collected nine hits, seven runs and three RBI. He also has the Falcons only home run of the season thus far.

The Falcons also have a very even batting lineup, with players like Alex McGarry, DJ Daniels and Chris Arpan all contributing on a nightly basis.

It’s going to be an exciting day of baseball between the two clubs. As an added bonus it’s also $5.00 Friday, so fans not only see a pair of games for the price of one, but can also enjoy a hamburger and pop for just $5.00!
