Kelowna Falcons

Walkoff Sweep

The Kelowna Falcons won their fourth game in a row by walking off the Walla Walla Sweets by a score of 6-5 in 13 innings. It was a home sweep for the Falcons, who also walked off the Sweets the previous game.

Kelowna was able to get some key contributions from Taylor Wright, JT Williams, Trent Tinglestad, Cole Mueller, Matt Scheffler, Alex McGarry and Kade Hall.

Kelowna was only able to score single runs throughout the game and only scored in the odd innings. The final winning run was driven home by the aforementioned Hall in the bottom of the 13th. It was the second longest game of the Falcons season and clocked in at a time of four hours and twelve minutes.

The story of the night for the Falcons was pitching. Kelowna got valuable innings from Tanner van Lith, Andrew Alvarez, Jake Roes, Ryan Smith and Anthony Garcia, who received the win.

Bryan Donohue, the Falcons manager, gave his thoughts on the team’s win. He said, “I think that the pitchers are the story of the night. We had a lot of hits and got a lot of baserunners on. Our bullpen did a tremendous job. They pitched a ton of innings. To hold the Sweets scoreless for seven or eight innings. Since we’ve started pitching consistently, we’ve added up some good wins.”

Kelowna will now hit the road for the final road trip of the season. First pitch is Friday night at 7:05!
