Falcons walk-off ‘Cats

Second baseman Gavin Napier hit an RBI sacrifice fly in the bottom of the tenth to lead the Kelowna Falcons to a 5-4 victory over the Victoria HarbourCats on Tuesday.

It capped off an impressive night for Napier, who put his team up 2-0 in the first with an RBI single and by stealing home.

A triple by Trey Duffield would extend Kelowna’s lead to 3-0 in the fourth, however, the game would soon be turned on its head by a sixth inning grand slam by Michael Crossland that put the HarbourCats on top 4-3 heading into the seventh.

The game was then forced into extras by an electric game-tying home run off the bat of Kyle Corso in the bottom of the ninth to knot the game at 4-4.

Then, in the bottom of the tenth, Garrett Crenshaw would collect the winning run after tagging up on a sacrifice fly by Napier to hand the Falcons the 5-4 victory and even the series at one game apiece.

Parker Primeau would finish as the winning pitcher, striking out three over two shutout innings in relief.

The Falcons and HarbourCats will face off for the final time this week on Wednesday night, where first pitch is set for 6:35 at Elks Stadium in Kelowna.
