Kelowna Falcons

Falcons Clipped

Tuesday night the Nanaimo NightOwls snapped the Kelowna Falcons three-game winning streak with a 3-2 win on the Island.

They scored a pair of runs off starter Griffin Palfrey (pictured) in the bottom of the first inning, then added an unearned run in the fourth. It would turn out to be a costly error as that run became the game winner.

The Falcons scored in the top of the third inning thanks to a two-out solo homerun off the bat of Trey Duffield, his first of the season. Then in the seventh the visitors cut the lead to one when Jonas Salk knocked in Luke Solis with a double for his team leading 24th RBI.

It’s the closest the Falcons would come, stranding nine base runners including Sam Flores who doubled in the eighth inning but couldn’t score.

The Falcons and NightOwls resume the three-game series on Wednesday night with Koen van’t Klooster taking the ball looking for his third win of the summer. The first pitch is set for 6:35pm and fans can watch HERE.
