Kelowna Falcons

Falcons Open Roady

The Kelowna Falcons open up seven straight on the road beginning tonight in Nanaimo when they face the NightOwls.

It’s been almost two months since these two teams met, when the Falcons swept the Owls in three-straight at Elks Stadium at the beginning of June; 9-3, 10-8 and 8-2.

The Falcons have won three straight after a sweep of the Port Angeles Lefties at home. They find themselves two games back of the final playoff spot in the North Division and four games up on the NightOwls. Both teams have 12 games remaining with the Falcons finishing up against the division leading Wenatchee Applesox, which is shaping up to be a highly competitive series.

The Falcons will visit the NightOwls, then Victoria and finish the road trip with a single game in Kamloops before finishing with the final five games at home.

Tonight in Nanaimo, Griffin Palfrey will head to the mound to make his third start and eighth appearance. He has struck out 24 batters in 22.2 innings and has a 1.58 ERA.

They will face Nathan Buchan and his 5.12 ERA, making his eighth start. The Falcons faced him in the first series at home where he gave up three runs on five hits and struck out one over five innings of work.
