Falcons Finish Roady

The Falcons finish the nine game road trip with six wins after falling in Wenatchee on Thursday night 12-1.

On Tuesday night the Falcons hammered the Sox 17-1, embarrassing them in front of their hometown crowd.  Fast forward 48 hours and this time it was the Sox offense that was hot.

Falcons’ starter Josh Nuernberg had his worst start of the summer throwing five innings, allowing six runs, but only three of them were earned.  Mike Gould lasted just one inning allowing four runs on five hits.

The Applesox scored three runs in each of the third and fourth innings, before gathering four runs in the sixth.  They compiled 14 hits on the night, scoring 12 times.

The Falcons (13-26) offense was cold on Thursday collecting five singles.  Scotland Church knocked in Josh Croft with a one-out single in the top of the ninth for the lone run.  Catcher Colton Waltner finished with two of the Falcons five hits.

The nine game road trip finally comes to an end as the Falcons won six times.    The club returns home on Thursday night in preparation to open a series at Elks Stadium on Friday night against the first place Yakima Valley Pippins (22-17) at 6:35pm.
