Kelowna Falcons

Clean Sweep

The Falcons earned a series sweep over the Kitsap Bluejackets on Thursday night with an 8-1 victory.

The offence continued to role as it has all series long collecting another eight hits.  In the three game series, Falcons hitters combined for 31 hits.

Thursday night the Falcons scored five times in the top of the second inning sending nine men to the plate.   Vaughn Shapen, AJ Sawyer and Tevin Mitchell each knocked in a run and the Falcons never looked back. The bottom third of the order; Shapen and Sawyer both finished with two hits and Mitchell drove in a pair of runs.

On the mound Max Carter (pictured) made his first start and he was dominant.  The righty threw a complete game two hitter, not allowing the Bluejackets to get on the board until the ninth inning.  He struck out seven on route to his first win.

The Falcons (17-19) will now welcome the Bluejackets (10-26) to Elks Stadium beginning on Friday and will look to continue their dominating play over the weekend series.
