Kelowna Falcons

Californians Coming

The Kelowna Falcons are pleased to announce a pair of recruits who will join the team for the 2022 summer season from the University of California-San Diego. Lefthanded pitcher Sam Hasegawa and infielder Luke Solis have signed with the Falcons and will make the trip to Kelowna in late May.

Lefty Sam Hasegawa (pictured) has worked out of the bullpen this spring and currently has a 1-1 record in nine appearances. He has struck out 14 over the course of his 14 innings pitched. He is a freshman after helping Carlsbad High School to the Division Two CIF San Diego Section Championship last year behind a 1.67 ERA.

Infielder Luke Solis is a true freshman with UC San Diego this spring. He has seen limited action but has collected a triple and a pair of RBIs in 10 games. He has a decorated high school career helping Ayala High School to their first league championship title in 20 years. He hit .330 as a senior, was named to the Conference All-League Second Team and to the Ayala Hall of Fame. He was excellent in the classroom as well, named a Scholar Athlete in both 2020 and 2021 and received a 2021 All-Academic honoree.

The Falcons home opener is set for June 3rd and admission will be free. Don’t miss a game this summer with season tickets available now.
